Frequently asked questions
Can it convert very large numbers?
Yes. It uses arbitrary-precision integers, so numbers with hundreds of digits convert exactly, with no rounding.
Can I type prefixes like 0x or 0b?
Yes. 0x for hexadecimal, 0b for binary and 0o for octal are accepted. Spaces, commas and underscores in the number are ignored.
Does it handle negative numbers or fractions?
Negative whole numbers are shown with a minus sign, not in two's complement. Fractions and decimals aren't supported.
What do base 36 digits look like?
Base 36 uses 0-9 and then a-z, so z means 35. It is often used to make short IDs.
