Guide: How to Make a Signature Image for Documents and Emails
Sign here
The picture is trimmed to the ink and saved with a see-through background, so you can place it on a document or a photo of a page. The typed styles use fonts that are already on your device, so they look a little different on each computer. A signature made here is a picture, not a legally certified electronic signature, so check what a contract or form accepts. Nothing is uploaded.
Nothing you enter or choose here leaves your device. This tool runs in your browser.
How to use
- 1Choose Draw it or Type it.
- 2Sign on the pad, or type your name and pick a style.
- 3Download the PNG and place it on your document.
Frequently asked questions
Is my signature uploaded?
No. Your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Is the background see-through?
Yes by default, so it can sit on top of a document. Tick the white background option if you need a solid one.
Is a signature image legally valid?
It's a picture of a signature, not a certified electronic signature. Many everyday agreements accept simple electronic signatures, but some documents need a specific method, so check with the other side.
How do I get smoother lines?
The tool smooths shaky lines for you. A stylus or finger on a touch screen works better than a trackpad, and a thicker pen hides small wobbles.
Can I change the ink color?
Yes. Dark blue or black looks most like real ink.
