Frequently asked questions
Are my PNG files uploaded?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser, so your pictures are never uploaded.
Why is the JPG so much smaller?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, while JPG throws away detail the eye barely notices. For photos that often cuts the file to a fraction of its size.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG can't be transparent, so transparent parts are filled with a color. White is the default, and you can pick another one.
Will text and sharp lines look worse?
They can, especially at low quality. For screenshots with text, keep the quality high, around 90 percent, or stay with PNG.
Can I convert many PNGs at once?
Yes. Add them all and download the results together as a ZIP.
