Are my JPG files uploaded?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser, so your pictures are never uploaded.
Will the PNG look better than the JPG?
No. The detail a JPG has already lost can't come back. The PNG will look the same, but it will be a lossless copy of what the JPG shows.
Why is the PNG bigger?
PNG stores every pixel without discarding anything, so photos usually make files several times larger than JPG.
Will the background be transparent?
No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG has a solid background too. Use an image editor to remove it.
When is converting JPG to PNG useful?
When a program or website asks for PNG, or when you plan to edit the image again and don't want to lose more quality on each save.
