Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded?
No. It's made and kept in your browser. It's gone when you close the page unless you download it.
Why does it ask for permission?
Browsers always ask before a site can use the microphone. Choose Allow. If you said no by mistake, click the lock icon in the address bar and allow it.
What file type do I get?
The browser picks its best format, usually WebM in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and M4A in Safari. Most players open both.
Is there a time limit?
No fixed limit. Long recordings use more memory, so download as you go if you are recording for hours.
Can I get a WAV file or cut the ends?
Yes. Open the recording in the Audio Trimmer, which saves WAV and can trim and fade.
